Students

Nick Andrews
Andrews is a MD/PhD student, who uses live cell imaging to track IgE receptors and their signalling partners. Technical applications include single particle trackingusing quantum dots, as well as FRET and FRAP.

Shujie Yang
Yang's dissertation project focuses on EGFR and related erbB family members in endometrial cancer. She uses biochemical approaches, as well as immunogold electron microscopy of native membrane sheets.

Major advisor: Bridget S. Wilson, PhD

Jessica Ming
Jessica Ming is a 2nd year medical student at UNM, performing her research project in the Cell Pathology Laboratory. She is working on mechanisms of autocrine signaling by Notch receptors/ligands in pre-B ALL.

Genie Hsieh
A doctoral student in the UNM Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept.(mentors, W. Shu and J. Edwards), Ms. Hsieh is developing a stochastic model to simulate diffusion, clustering and activation of receptors in the plasma membrane. She is a STMC fellow.

Shalini Therese Low-Nam
Shalini is an IGERT nanoscience predoctoral fellow. She is collecting quantitative data of receptor diffusion and dimerization rates (using QD technology) and will integrate these data into spatial models of signal transduction.
